We must be careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. It's all very well putting more emphasis on Cumbrian based players, but some of our more consistent performers this season like Dan Wordsworth, Ben McKenna and David Lynch are outwith the county and every effort should be made to persu...

Yes You just couldn't make it up. Without wishing to sound like the former Port Vale under 14s superstar, I've got to know Keith pretty well over the last 18 months and would like to wish him all the best for the future. He is great company and tells some wonderful stories about Reds past and prese...

Lol Rocker - fair enough. Just have no time for Blackburn fans sneering at Burnley's achievements. But this is a Reds forum and I fully agree with your post. If possible I'd keep Bones, Kyle, Goose, Smith, Skelts, Lynch, Jacko, Wrighty, Allison & McKenna and look to sign 4 or 5 experienced playe...

Agreed - a Local Team a Community Club and reduced expenses of the Evo Stick will help develop a long term plan for the club The inevitable has happened - now a blank sheet and some blue sky thinking is needed. It need not be th end of the world but the issues whiich have plagued the club for some ...

Lynch and Hindmarch create nothing as midfield players and I am not superior, I just have more football experience. I saw them last night hiding from having the ball played to them. The other Workington guys don't even attempt to give them the ball as they already know that is pointless, so the mid...

David Lynch travels to Penrith twice a week for training from his home in Lancashire, a round trip of 160 miles. Every home game is a round trip of 240 miles. He has not missed a single training session all season, has been available for every game and has turned down approaches from 2 clubs much ne...

This was hard to take after a 2nd half performance full of character, commitment, guts and no little skill. After a flat 1st period when Johnny Jamieson made 2 outstanding stops to keep the deficit to just the 1 penalty - a definite spot kick by the way, we really took the game to Colwyn and after J...

There were no mobile phones taken but unfortunately several of the players had cash, wallets and credit cards stolen from the dressing room during the game.

Burnley have tended to rotate their 3rd and 4th choice keepers in the competition so there is a chance that if Nick Liversedge plays then Nizic will be available for the trip to Colwyn Bay. It's unlikely though as I would expect him to be on the bench at the very least.

Boston fan not keen on reds ground http://underthefloodlightsblog.wordpress.com/a-long-road-back-workington-1-0-boston-united-conference-north-8314/ Amazing how he managed to see all of Workington when he walked from the station to the ground. 100% effort and commitment from every single player. We created chance after chance and fully deserved all 3 points. Sam Smith did not look out of place at LB and hopefully keeps his place in the side. Roll on Saturday! sam had a good game but Danijel Nizic and Kyle Brownhill will both play on satu...

Perhaps a regular Staffordshire based poster can answer the question posed about the 2013 fund. After all he recently informed us that he would get to know things earlier than we supporters not fortunate enough to be putting the chairman's number into our phones as we type.....

With the amount of rain they have had down there and with Cheltenham reluctant to let them play on a wet pitch this match has a nil chance of being played. Their home match next Tuesday against Oxford has already been postponed and will now be played on March 11th Gloucester have also got Tuesday n...

Reds have signed Ben Hoskin from Nelson. The former Burnley, Accrington, Padiham and Colne player has scored 3 times this season and can play anywhere down the right. Ben is the nephew of assistant manager Ash Hoskin.
