I bumped into Gary Rowentree this morning. He said the players are pleased that there is a formal event, are looking forward to it and will be going round town afterwards. It should be a good night. I then bumped into Ashy, who said that there's going to be a special buffet that caters for all tast...

I am absolutely disgusted by the pro thatcher sentiments on here - a Workington AFC forum. Workington a town that suffered severely at the hands of the Tory government that she headed. How on earth can anyone say that she was our greatest ever peace time PM? Look at the achievements of the Attlee g...

Reds won without ever getting out of 2nd gear. Aaron made one good save, they hit the bar and had a close range effort just wide and that was the sum total of the Droylsden threat. Other than that Reds controlled the game, hit the post, had a goal disallowed and missed 3 good chances in the 2nd half...

Well said Lenny. No surprise to see the usual suspects on here celebrating the death of Britain's greatest ever peacetime Prime Minister not to mention somebody's mother. RIP Baroness Thatcher.

This is a crackin' award. Much to my embarrassment, however, I've just counted up and realised I've only been to seven games - a victim of a lot of cancelled games re-scheduled to mid week. If I was eligible, I'd give it to Skip. Hope it all goes well. But one of those 7 games provided THE entertai...

Corby rested several 1st teamers at Hinckley, probably thinking a victory was guaranteed no matter what team they put out (a bit like Reds!). They may do the same at Halifax but I would imagine they will be at full strength on Saturday and they have some decent forward players such as Moreman. Rememb...

Cold, damp but very happy! Thought Boyd & Arnison were outstanding in a good, solid team performance. Only about a dozen Reds fans present but we made ourselves known. Very encouraging against a half decent Vauxhall team - but we certainly have the Indian sign over them! Onwards and upwards to D...

Agree with DE regarding no bad players. My nominations for best since I "Returned" in '93 would be Mark Kirby and the blindingly obvious talent of Grant Holt and Matty first time. As my specs rose tinted? They all played over 10 years ago Would Mark Kirby be the central defender who usual...

He had a very good game, he's only played a dozen games and is nineteen playing in the heart of midfield. He was the best player on the park. Just cos your lot were crap doesn't mean ours were. No-one slagged Workington off after we didn't turn up at Whaddon and you won one-nil.[/quote] Yeah, whate...
