No sorry Jeff. Unofficial forums yes......they have to be. Websites??
Achieves nothing.
That is, unless somebody can give a convincing reason that I fail to see.

Don't understand the reasoning behind an unofficial website. Have seen them before and it gives the passer-by an impression that the club has factions, or rather it gave me that impression. With an unofficial website, what would that say to people like Paul.......like we are not satisfied with what ...

You can never look at pre-season and judge how things are going to be. That's why I don't bother. One thing for certain we have scored 9 goals in two games and playing against a team of skittles last season, we would have struggled to find the net. It has to be good for confidence too! I don't think...

I will buy for myself a home top XL

I will also buy a complete set of kids kit (whatever size) so long as you advertise matchday mascots on the website (choose your own package)
What do you say?

No. Steve Hindmarch is not useless. Steve to me, is a hustler, a ball-winner, a tryer. My criticism of Steve was that he was not creative enough for what we needed last season. Now put him alongside a creative midfielder with some grace and he will probably fit nice. Another good thing about Steve i...

Oh aye, Jamie. It sets off an air-raid siren!

Think of Michael like a JR. A crazy american with a very big hat; only this guy knows how to wear it.

Michael & Janet Davison from Wichita, Kansas USA have delivered some smart training kit to Gavin as he prepares to gather the troops for the new season. Gavin Skelton requested that our squad needed to look professional for pre-season, and so Michael & Janet duly obliged. They are also in re...

Play in a velodrome Tony. Absolutely no atmosphere. Tell you a good community scheme we could have at Workington. Mens Health & Veterans Football. There is a very healthy vets league in Cumbria. Set up a not-for-profit group, get some local grants (easy) then apply or a big lottery grant (easy) ...

Just been looking on the Conference website about Alfreton Town and the £10,000 award they have been presented with for winning the Premier Division Community Club Award. Ah ha, you say; ten thousand smackers! This is the sort of thing I preach, that is nauseating to you all. My repetitive uninforme...

Put me down as a helper, but only if you are stuck. I promised to attend the Soul Night the following Saturday, so the petrol money will hit my pocket.
Anything, I suppose for a great club.
Hope it goes really well.

It's nothing to do with fans behind the goal Ray. A Community Club is a club that runs schemes in the community. I used to think that to be a community club you had to have the FA accreditation of Charter Standard Community Club, but I was wrong. Examples of Conference clubs that call themselves Com...

Tell us how we pay, who to phone and when. Top banana. This is when we do such things and not after the season has started. Need to keep this pre-season activity bubbling, and not just for this season either. We are beginning to look like a proper club. Needs going on the website too. Keep it going ...

I think you will find that the bottom club in just about every league has to be relegated. It's only those that finish above who get reprieved. NW Counties this year a good example. There is usually a league rule to this effect.

Just read it. We are dead in the water. Ah well! Worth a try. So the fact that it used to be a village green and used for recreational purposes has been killed by turning it into a lorry park and then a car park. Hardly the place you would want to have a picnic, play cricket and have the kids runnin...

I feel it is essential that someone at the club knows exactly where we stand. I'm not saying they need to tell everybody, but I would find it worrying if the board didn't know the answer to this. Trying to be very careful how I say this, but I used to think like yourself, Popularsider. I used to th...

You can't sell the land if you don't own it. If the Curwen family gave it to the people for recreation, it belongs to the people and not ABC. The question is; did they?

We were told on this very forum a year or so ago, that the land that BP sits upon was given over to the people of Workington for sport and recreation by Lord Godknowswho. I reckon we should first, find out who really owns this land. It could be that the council just maintain it. Give you an example ...

Self sufficient? Lewis agrees that we need to become self-sufficient. My old signature is it not? If we take a look at a recent posting of mine entitled Commercial Staff Required, note that it only drew 270 visitors. How do we become self-sufficient when we are not interested? A posting about a donk...
